Girls Do STEM, Mathematics Workshops & More...

Girls Do STEM

The Girls Do Stem event is designed to enthuse and inspire young female students to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses and careers. This one-day event sees students taking part in a series of interactive workshops followed by a public lecture and panel discussion with STEM academics and professionals.

We'd like to invite you to send up to five Year 10 and five Year 12 students to participate in this event. For more information, please contact us.

Maths Student of the Year

Mathematics is about spotting patterns and developing a clear understanding of complex situations. We offer a variety of workshops designed to introduce pupils to ways of understanding and formulating problems by getting them to work in groups in engaging, fun and hands-on activities.

In these workshops for students in year 12 we will explore what mathematics is, what it is that mathematicians accomplish, and how to think like a mathematician.

Changes to UCAS tariff

The UCAS tariff is changing. The biggest change is that AS levels are now positioned as 40%, rather than 50% of an A-Level. The UCAS website has a range of resources explaining the changes and how they might impact students.

At Middlesex we will be moving away from using the tariff point system, and will begin using grades in our offer and decision-making. This is so we can ensure that our entry requirements are as clear as possible, and can be more easily related to the qualification profiles of prospective students.

Undergraduate Open Days

Open days are a perfect opportunity for students to explore our outstanding facilities and get a feel for university life.

They also provide opportunities to meet staff and current students as well as to ask questions about courses and subjects such as admissions, fees, funding and finding accommodation.

Your students can register for our open days here.
