Welcome to the launch of our new quarterly newsletter! I am excited to re-introduce you to the services and team members that make us great. In my new role as president, I plan to expand Prairie Financial Group’s presence as the premier administration-focused wealth management company in Wisconsin (and nationwide through our investment adviser partners).

We offer services in three key areas:

  • Personal Trust: We serve as trustee on many types of trusts including irrevocable, special needs, and life insurance trusts. We also offer estate settlement services and bill pay.
  • Qualified Retirement Plan: We work with local businesses to provide solutions to their 401(k), pension, profit-sharing, and fiduciary needs.
  • Investment Management and Not-for-Profit: We are an advisor-friendly firm that works with outside investment advisors allowing us to focus on fiduciary administration through the use of delegated and directed trusts. For those clients seeking an all-in-one solution, we do offer an internally managed mutual fund solution.

Please click through the included links to find contact and biographical information about our talented team, upcoming free CE luncheon series dates, and handy tax guide. We look forward to sharing more details about directed trusts, special needs trusts, qualified retirement plan services, not-for-profit / planned giving, and estate settlement in future communications.

We have a number of exciting staffing changes to highlight:

After 28 years of dedicated leadership service, Bernie Fiedler is transitioning to a part-time role and will help us with financial planning, administration of specialty assets, and compliance matters. I especially appreciate all that he has done to build our organization to what it is today. Read more about Bernie.
In February, Lisa Persohn joined us as our Accounting and Business Operations Manager. Lisa is leading our trust system evaluation project.

In March, Kelly Savatski was promoted to Senior Portfolio Manager.

Recently, two major changes have been enacted that will impact our industry:

  • Wisconsin passed 2015 Wisconsin Act 300, effective April 1, 2016, which creates Wisconsin’s Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act (UFADAA). Read more here.
  • United States Department of Labor finalized their new Fiduciary Rule on April 6, 2016. Read more here.

Thank you for your continued trust and confidence. We look forward to working with you. If we can ever help you or your clients, please let us know.
